Part 1: Official 2v2 Speedsoft Tournament Rulebook

Venue: GelCity, Australia

Format: 2v2 Competitive Speedsoft / Gelsoft

Any abuse, or aggression shown to referees, other players or spectators can now result in an eviction from the tournament (potentially from 2V2X all together)

Section 1: Player Eligibility & Roster Rules

• Team Composition: Teams must consist of exactly two (2) starting players.

• Substitutes: No subs allowed due to being a duo cup

• Team Rules: Only 1 NSL player/ Nations players allowed per team

• Safety Gear: All players must wear full-face protection (e.g., Dye i4/i5 masks). Sealed eye protection is always mandatory on the field.

Section 2: Match Format & Tournament Schedule

• Tournament Duration: The entire event must conclude within a strict 3-hour hard limit.

• Round Clock: Each individual round has a maximum duration of 80 seconds.

• Match Structure: Matches will be played as many games as possible that can fit into 80 seconds games, most points move on to the next round, loosing teams goes into looser bracket

• Overtime / Draws: If the 80-second clock expires and both teams have surviving players, the winner is determined by the highest total points scored in that round.

• Looser bracket: all the teams that lost there first game will have a chance at redemption by versing all the loosing teams in the standard round format, only one team can come back into the tournament for a chance at the prize

Section 3: Equipment Rules & Restrictions

• Firing Mode: Semi-automatic only. Feathering/walking is NOT allowed. No binary or ramping triggers. Scratching is ok but if being over used will be banned in future events

• Ammo: Gel balls only. Non-gel ammo results in a lifetime season ban and a police report.

• FPS: No limit on velocity.

• Triggers: Extended or double triggers are banned. Trigger guards can be removed.

• Blind Firing: Banned. The blaster barrel must always align with your line of sight.

• Magazines: Mid-game passing and between-point refills are allowed.

• Protection: Full-face mask protection is mandatory for all players.

Section 4: Instant Match Loss Items

Possessing any of the following items in-game results in an automatic match loss (30 points awarded to the opponent):

• Drum magazines

• Grenades or grenade launchers

• Shields or sidearms

• Strobing devices or lasers

• Communication devices

Section 5: Penalties & Infractions

The No-Call Hit Penalty (Cheating / "Shrugging")

• First Offense: The offending player is instantly eliminated from the current round, and their team suffers a -50 point deduction.

• Second Offense: The player is disqualified from the entire tournament. Their teammate must play the remainder of the 3-hour event solo (1v2).

Minor Penalties (-25 Points per occurrence)

• Dead Men Talking: Giving any verbal callouts, pointing, or using hand signals after being hit.

• False Start: Leaving the breakout wall or touching your blaster before the starter buzzer sounds.

• Boundary Step: Stepping completely outside the designated tape or wall boundaries during live play.

• Over-Shooting: Continuing to intentionally shoot an opponent who has already raised their hand and called "hit."

Major Penalties (Instant Round Forfeit & -50 Points)

• Blind Firing: Firing around, under, or over a bunker without your eyes clearly aligned behind your blaster's sights.

• Referee Disrespect: Arguing with or swearing at an official. The referee's field calls are final and absolute.

• No Calls: getting hit and not calling it

Part 2: Points

Targets (Mid – Long Range): 10 Points per target (4 targets per side AKA 40 points max on targets per team)

Buttons/ Pressers (Close): 5 Points Per button (5 buttons per side AKA 25 Points Max on Buttons per team)

Kills: 15 Points per kill (2 people on each team AKA 30 points max on kills)

Part 3: Referee Amendments & Appeals

• Captains Only: Only captains can appeal referee decisions.

• Timing & Location: Appeals must happen after the match, away from the field, with the tournament marshal.

• No Delays: Appeals must never hold up the tournament.

• Field Decisions: On-field referee decisions are final during play.

• Evidence Rules: Evidence must be 100% clear and irrefutable to be considered.

• Resolutions: Valid evidence results in a point readjustment, face-off, or rematch.

• Penalties: Baseless appeals cost your team a point and a player suspension.

• Conduct: Players must remain calm; arguments can cause immediate ejection.

• Abuse: System abuse leads to team disqualification.

• Final Ruling: Marshal or head referee appeal decisions are absolute.
